Today my friend and I went on our first fly fishing trip. We had a beautiful day in the Chattahoochee River outside of Helen, GA. This trip was so much fun! Our guide, Rex Gudgel, was incredible - he went over basics with us in the parking lot before heading down to the river. With a few extra instructions, we both caught trout within the first hour! Rex continued working with us to improve our roll casting and we landed several more fish. Rex made it so much fun - we had a great day, we learned a new sport, we made a new friend and we'll be back for more!

It's that time of year again - time to make your way through the corn maze at Uncle Shuck's! I remember the first year I went - I asked "How hard can it be?" But believe me, you can walk in circles for quite some time before making your way out on the other side. Try it - it's fun....and for the brave of heart, there's the nighttime version in the "Haunted Maze" - BOO!

I'll be in the Atlanta Fly Fishing School this month and I am very excited about it!
Now learning and going is more affordable and easier than you might have imagined. Through Atlanta Fly Fishing School along with either Unicoi Outfitters or River Through Atlanta, you can learn at the school in Cumming and then put your skills to use with the help of the best guides in the business.
The class room education is the best way to learn. In one morning, they cover more information on insects, knots, fly lines leaders...etc...than you would learn in a year on the water. After learning the basics in the classroom, a guide will help you out on the first time in the water to put all the pieces together!
Stay tuned for more information as I will share my experience with you!
