The Lockerly Arboretum is a 50-acre public garden and educational facility. Situated one mile south of Milledgeville, GA, the Arboretum displays and maintains numerous plant collections.
Visitors are welcome to tour the gardens at their own pace. Check the website for hours and register at the office to get a brochure and trail guide. Private group and educational tours can be scheduled by calling (478) 452-2112.
By car or bicycle: Gravel roadways wind through the gardens and collections on our 50 acre property. Please remain on the gravel roads to protect the grounds and collections.
On foot: Walking along the gravel roadways and hiking the short trails is encouraged; however, many areas are not wheelchair accessible.
Lockerly Hall, formerly known as Rose Hill, is one of the area’s finest examples of Greek revival architecture and is furnished with historically appropriate pieces. It was built around 1852.
