Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunt using a handheld GPS unit or a GPS enabled cell phone to track down geocaches (containers hidden in specific locations). It's a scavenger hunt!
Next go to the website, www.georgiastateparks.org/geocaching and join the Parks Challenge or the History Trail Challenge to get coordinates for hidden caches in over 50 state parks and historic sites.
Caches are usually hidden near trails or other easily accessible areas. Some are easy to find and other are trickier and involve challenges. But finding the cache is only the beginning. Caches contain small treasures and trinkets that you can take. You must leave something in return for the next person. There are also "travel bugs" (small items that start in one cache and end up in others around the country).
So get out there and find something!!! Watch out - it's addictive!
