This festival is home of the Georgia Bluegrass Lots of food, arts and crafts, live music and entertainment, parade, road race and the marble quarry tour.
This year I am going to take the marble quarry tour - this is the only time during the year that you can actually tour the marble quarry.
By the way, the picture is from a postcard of yesteryear. The first use of the quarries was in 1884 and the quarry is now operated by the Georgia Marble Company.
Check the Marble Festival website for additional information such as event times and pricing for selected events.
See you there this year!
